Dishonest Sampler

Dishonest is the rave oriented sub-label of Honest Electronics and this record samples moments from the Cypriot scene worthy of documentation. Funded by a legendary rave that happened in November 2019 in Nicosia, DIS04 is evident of the local community's remarkable progress and togetherness.

Side A maintains a peak time mood, setting off with a downtempo killer by Joralsky who doesn't waste a second to demonstrate all his tricks, a dub for the club. It's followed by 'Parish Matters' that brings the first rare collaboration on this record, Krimson Vial & Spivak shake hands to offer a twisted EBM synth earworm. The record continues with M. Gibbosus (Whirldos alter ego) which surprises with flowing acid textures and immense sensitivity, "Falling Apart" concludes.

Side B introduces itself as the other side of the moon with AyGeeTee's 'Bite Me'. Reminiscing of his live performance at 2016's first Honest Electronics festival, this track is a noise cleanser, it is referencing muslimgauze and is nothing like he's ever produced. 'Samara' by the Master Your Horn Noise duo picks up from the eastern shadows but manages to land the script on a 4/4 beat, a huge track with surrounding horn samples. For closing, another spontaneous collaboration, Androula's therapeutic choir vocals sing from a distance 'You Are' while RAW SILVER's delicate beats build a bridge to meet her, the last two minutes leaves us in an almost acapela apotheosis.

It was mastered by Marko Pellegrino in Analog Cut in Berlin and pressed at Mother Tongue in Italy.
